learn Hungarian

Just came back from a 10-day holiday in Hungary and picked up a few words and have a slightly better understanding of pronunciation and features of the language, definitely going to go again so will persevere with this goal! :D

My Grandad is Hungarian and so I’ve always been interested in his native language and wanted to learn it. Haven’t had chance to learn much recently because I’ve been at university and been too busy as a result, but will be finished tomorrow and have some time to learn! Going to Hungary this month too, so will emmerse myself in the language there, although I did buy a very useful book called “Teach Yourself Hungarian” by Zsuzsa Pontifex. It does have accompanying CDs to help you understand spoken Hungarian and I would reccommend it to anyone wanting to learn the language (there’s a whole series of “Teach Yourself..” books for different languages too) – good luck to others also wanting to learn this unique language! :D
