Saigon: a city of 13 million people. Most of them seem to be on a motorbike at any one given time.
This was rush hour traffic in Saigon. The rules of the road here are very different than in most developed countries I’ve seen. There are very few traffic lights and what few they have often go ignored.
Most people can’t afford a car, so most everyone rides a motorbike. It isn’t uncommon to see an entire family of four people riding on a single motorbike together.

This was a picture taken at the market in Saigon. I was always intrigued at the Vietnamese markets with just how much stuff that they could fit into a single small space. I also liked the variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and textures that could be found in one place.

A picture from my hotel room of a beautiful California sunrise.
But how is this possible? I thought that the sun sets over the water in California.

Mrs. viii, our oldest daughter, and myself, on the occasion of our daughter’s college graduation last year. She’s a great young woman. She worked really hard and graduated in three and a half years.

When I go to North Carolina my brother always takes me to a place called “Little Richards” for some genuine Carolina barbeque. It is sooooooo good.
I usually get the same thing, the coarse chopped dinner. Hmmmmmmm.
