surround myself with positive people

I am surrounded by positive people. Here. Yeah, life may be sucking for the people I’m around on this side of the screen (though as I mentioned earlier, there have been some rays of sunshine lately), and those people may as a result be a bunch of gloomy dark clouds…but I can always count on my fellow 43t-ers to put a smile on my face. I love that this site is devoted to doing—the goals themselves don’t matter as much as the drive to achieve and persevere. You encourage and inspire me. Really.

Kick-ass week is continuing. Nothing earth-shattering has happened, but everything’s just going…well. I’m in an excellent mood, and I appear to be rubbing off on everyone around me—either that, or the stars are aligned in such a way that we’re all having great weeks. (Doubt that.) Even my mom’s cheery; it’s been a while since I’ve been able to say that about her. So I’m thinking…maybe if I am positive, it’ll infect everyone around me. Worth looking into!

Tonight I stayed an hour late to help a couple of my coworkers decorate the office for our Halloween party. And we didn’t limit ourselves to just decorations, either. We had all sorts of fun hiding rubber toys in unexpected places and taping shredded trash bags and other things to doorways, cupboards, etc., to scare the crap out of people. I’m completely in the Halloween mood now…and still laughing about some of the booby traps we set up. I actually can’t wait to go to work tomorrow.

Mind you, I have never been the cheery, hopeful one. At this moment, though, everyone I know is down about something. Mostly love/work related, though there are a few curveballs in the mix. And I’m turning into some bizarre mix of confidant, therapist, and cheerleader. Like I’ve got it all together!

I’ve met people who are (almost) always positive and upbeat…and I know that doesn’t mean their lives are perfect. It’s all attitude. I need to know more people like that.
