walk every street in my town

in a while, so i decided to take the dog for a walk and drop off two thank you notes in the mail. walked a few more blocks that i had never walked before. was especially awed by one house that was up on a hill and partially made of stone with beautiful stone archways. also discovered a better way to keep my dog from walking in front of me. i block her with my leg as i walk if she tries to trot ahead. she finally understood, and by the time we were walking down our block to return home, she was walking a little behind me the whole time perfectly.

instead of manhattan, i’m starting smaller and more locally. there is sooooo much you miss if you only drive, instead of walk, the streets of your town. i’ve been truly surprised in recent years walking in the town where i’ve lived for about 20 years by how much i never realized was here.
