of the beautiful beige wool and soy yarn…will you ever be done in time for me to wear you?

I’m FINALLY back into a knitting project, using Colinette Prism in Neptune.
I bought this yarn when my favorite, and local, yarn store closed. The owner was moving on to exciting things in her life, but it was still sad for us, the customers. I decided to “treat” myself to something nice, and bought two skeins of this at closeout price.
Since then, they’ve been sitting in the plastic bag they came in!
Until yesterday I had been puzzling over what to do with such a bright, variegated, and textured yarn. Personally, I like small projects, socks with cables or hats with argyle, etc. But I couldn’t figure what would work. Duh! Keep It Simple, Stupid! So I’m making a regular ol’ 2×2 rib scarf, what will hopefully be a lovely, relaxing, simple project!
It’s been close to two months since I knitted something. It’s hard to imagine.
I walked into a new yarn shop in my ‘hood with an idea in mind, but of course I let my imagination go and ended up with yarn double the price (but seemingly of better quality, color, etc.) for a nice skinny summer scarf for myself!

I’m almost done with the second sock of my second pair of socks. That pesky second sock is very elusive. But fun.
I think I will try toe-up socks the next time. Has anyone tried this and have any suggestions?
How many of us have had that moment in knitting-time when it seems like nothing, not only your project, but perhaps time ITSELF, can progress without that tool, that notion, that yarn you need? For me, it was a set of size 6 dpn’s that I figured out would give me the right gauge swatch for a set of fingerless mitts I must make for a gift.
(Non-knitters: do you feel the compusion and the frenzy? It really is nothing short of an addiction!)
I got lost along the way to Michael’s crafts in S. Attleboro and ended up discovering a few cute towns along Route 123, Rehobeth, Webster, etc. the way. I guess that’s the best part of getting lost.
It’s the “Clutch You’ll Never Give Up” from One Skein (prior to embellishment). Look how cute it is, sitting on a towel drying!
