Complete the Webwalking USA Challenge

Since my last entry I’ve jogged 110 minutes, although I’m not exactly sure about distance because these jogs have been outdoors. On average I run a 10 minute mile so I estimate that I’ve run about 11 miles.

(11 true miles x 20 = 220 virtual miles [Overall = 22 True / 440 virtual]

Which puts me just 99.8 miles from my goal (Old Town, MD (C&O Canal Towpath)

What I might see along this route:

Which puts me past my last milestone (Georgetown):

I’ll be completing this part of the challenge over the weekend!

Just came across this “virtual” walk/jog program where you chart your distances and mark your milestones as you progress from one coast to the other. An excerpt from the site:

I’ve been itching to do some travelling for sometime now… but in light of my current financial situation this virtual long-distance walk/jog will have to do! My goal is to complete 504,800 steps which translates to 252.4 miles. I’ll be multiplying my true mileage by 20 to determine where I am on the trail.

The first leg of my trip starts at Henlopen State Park and ends 44.6 miles later at the MD State line. I’ll “virtualy” reach the MD state line in 2.23 miles… I’ll post pictures along the way of what I could expect to see if I were really walking outdoors!
