... longest sidewalk. It’s called Bayshore Blvd. and it’s 4.5 miles long (running along Tampa Bay). From what I’ve read it’s considered a “linear park”.
Interesting, huh?
Anyway, I almost made it to the end and back. Only I walked to the “park” and knew that once I turned around I would have to walk back to my car, so I cut it short. Next time I’m going to park right at the start of the “park” and then blade the whole 9 miles.
I went rollerblading through this nature preserve near my parent’s house and it was wonderful. I didn’t fall at all (which made me very happy), and I could really feel the workout in my legs right below my backside :-)
I did fine with starting and moving along, I just really don’t know how to stop and kept worrying what would happen if someone jumped in front of me and I had to stop on a dime…
So I’m working on learning how to stop, but I’m so proud of myself for blading 4 miles today. I plan to keep it at that distance for a while then work up to the additional 7 mile loop which will total 11 miles! Now that’s a workout…
... of blading in Tampa. The area I will be living in has a nature preserve with a long flat walkway that is suitable for rollerblading.
... for about a year. Tried to skate back then, but ended up with really sore ankles. Now that I’ve lost the weight I’d like to try it again…
