be a great mum

It wasn’t until recently that I realised that this ‘thing’ was a dig at myself! Of course I am a great mum and simply adding it as something I ‘wanted’ to do was just belittling how great I actually can be at motherhood.

Ok I am not the most maternal person in the world, and I’ve never professed to be. But I tell you what, somebody does something to affect my family and they’d better watch out because this lioness guards her cubs with pride and love.

I teach my girls right from wrong, cover them with kisses and tell them they are beautiful people daily. I try and bring their learning on with puzzles and games and I hope they know that I only tell them off because I love them. I clothe them, bathe them and feed them up as best I can.

Well my LO is poorly :-( Sick and everything. Been to the docs and they’ve given her something.

I just know that I am being a good mum but feeling the way I feel. She’s so helpless and I know I won’t sleep a wink tonight (well maybe only a little) as I’ll want to check on her!

I have no idea how I can say whether I am a good mum or whether it is a goal? Perhaps I should say both? I have achieved it and will continue to achieve it?

My two girls are the most important things in my life (and dh!) and I think I’ll only know if I have ‘done this’ in 20 years time when they’re grown up and can tell me themselves.
