The third quarter will conclude on Monday. My attempts to talk to my English teacher and resolve our conflicts haven’t exactly succeeded, so my father will be meeting with her and the principal to discuss troubling errors in the gradebook. I’m very hopeful! I’m currently printing out every assignment that she has listed as a “0” or without a grade. I feel terrible about killing all these trees, considering I’ve given her multiple copies of some of these assignments, but I think it’ll be worth it.

It’s the third quarter in my senior year. And I’m struggling with an English professor who is eccentric - and that’s an understatement! - and, much worse, an erratic grader. Currently, my grades are: A, A, D, A, A, A, A. I have the D in English class, obviously.
First reason: Last class’ spontaneous oral essay. A couple of weeks ago, she had handed out essay prompts on a novel that we’d read. Last class, she told us to give us three minute presentations on the prompt and, giving us no time to prepare, called on someone. I was called on second and received a 70. The presentations will continue next class, giving the students who she did not call on two days to prepare. I received about a minute.
Second reason: Poetry log. She graded my poetry log, basically a monthy analysis of three poems, and I received a 96. However, she forgot to write down my grade, as well as several others’, so she entered our grades as 0. And I can’t find my poetry log to get it changed because it’s lost in the mess in the hallway that resulted when the office was emptied to be painted.
Third reason: Introductory paragraph of my research paper. This is actually rather simple. She lost it and entered a 0 in the gradebook.
I apologize profusely for the long, unnecessary rant. I feel much better now that this is off of my back, thanks.
