The dog is truly thriving. She is a happier dog [I didn’t think that was possible, she is always happy] for it. It is easier to take walks with her now. I’ve also called her off of deer in the woods.
We will keep going now!

Blondie continues to thrive with regular training sessions. She has learned to leave another dog she has greeted when I say, “Say Bye-bye.”
She is very well-behaved and loves life.
I don’t think this goal will ever be really “finished” until she passes on to the great doggie camp in the sky.

Blondie excelled in doggie school. Now she walks real nice on the lead and she is learning tricks too. She sits, comes, stays, downs, and turns beautifully! She is learning “stand” and we are continuing to work on using her nose to find things. I am sooo proud of her.
Doggie school has helped her to be far less distractable around other doggies. She is graduating tomorrow!
We will be signing up for MORE… sapphoq
Blondie played two new training “games” with me yesterday.
I stomped as I walked forward.
When she ran off, I began to stomp my feel louder and walk backwards.
She would come back to investigate and then I would ask her to sit.
She caught on very quickly.
I left Blondie in the car and hid a doggie biscuit.
I let her out and told her to “go find” anytime she stopped
following my tracks with her nose.
She found the treat and was very excited about this “game.”

Blondie has infected paw pads!
She would not keep on the socks or the elizabethian collar.
She did very quickly learn that
I do not want her to lick her paws. {vet’s orders]
This week, we are continuing to work on her car manners.
GOAL: Blondie will keep her paws away from me when I am driving
100% of the time in the car.

Last week up in Maine, Blondie learned how to swim in Casco Bay. She was always a hesitant swimmer and did not like waves or moving water.
Last week, she also learned how to retrieve sticks thrown into Casco Bay. She also will drop the stick when given the command “Drop.”
This week, I plan to review “sit,” “stay,” and “heel” with Blondie on lead. 8/29/05 -sapphoq
Blondie is a real sweetheart of a dog. By the end of the week, the fence in the backyard should be installed.
She does know some obedience. I plan to review some commands with her twice this week-“sit,” “stay,” “Blondie, heel!” and “Blondie, come”-on a long lead.
