This year I really want to make more time for Mum & Dad. Obviously I spent 14 nights in a row with them in January and they were still away in February and much of March.
April’s visit just squeezed in before the month ended but I spent a full day and stayed overnight with them which was lovely. We were able to sort out the many (many) photographs Dad had taken on their final trip to SA. He wants to create a photobook which will be challenging for him and before he can even start to tackle that we had to trace all his pictures – which he had somehow managed to spread over 4 memory cards and 2 computers in numerous files! There were several batches he thought he’d lost which we rediscovered and by the time I left everything was in one place and easily accessible for him. We culled all the duplicates and I have left him with several hundred to play with: he likes cropping and editing! On a later visit we’ll start considering the book itself.
I combined May’s visit to Mum & Dad with Evan’s 2nd birthday. Horrendous traffic problems on the motorways meant that I only arrived at Mum & Dad’s at 7 o’clock in the evening – 5 hours later than planned. But we had a lovely evening and they came with me to celebrate Evan’s birthday which of course they both loved.
Now to think about June’s visit. I’m wondering if they might come and stay up here….
