Not doing well! 2 years ago

I guess I have been waking up around 9:30 lately, but I don’t feel like I’ve been making any progress with this goal. Ideally, I would be waking up at 7am without an alarm clock every morning and loving it, but I do not see that happening. I need to start going to bed earlier first of all. Soon I’ll be back in school and I have a feeling I’ll be needing to get up early this year. I don’t get to pick my class times because I’m studying abroad, so I’m going to need to be a morning person. It’s just so hard though!
At least I learned to get up when my alarm clock goes off, that’s one good thing!

One day of success! 2 years ago

Today I woke up on my own at 7:30am and I stayed up. Right now it’s only 10am and I’ve been greatful to have so many more hours in day to myself. Time where it’s too early to go to work and there really isn’t anything expected of me yet, so I can do what ever I want and have a relaxed morning.

Much better than waking up at 10am and having to immediately rush out of bed, get dressed and leave the house so that I can be at work on time. Much, much better.

Not going well! 2 years ago

The first couple of days I actually had my alarm set for 7am, but after that I changed it to 10am, and now it’s not even set at all.

I just like staying up late too much to give up, and when I wake up early it makes me so tired later on!

I’m not giving up on this though! I really do want to be a morning person, I just don’t want to have to work for it.

Not working! 2 years ago

So far my plan of getting up at 7am each day to take a pill, and then stay up and learn to love mornings, hasn’t been working.

I’ll get up to take the pill, but then I’ll go right back to sleep for 4 more hours. Or I’ll stay up for a little while, but then waste the entire afternoon napping from exhaustion.
Or, more recently, I’ve shut my alarm off entirely and allowed myself to wake up around 11 and take my pill then.

Not good progress so far.

Somewhat harder than I thought 2 years ago

My alarm went off at 7 – I hit the snooze twice and then got up. Now it’s 8, and I am enjoying my free time, but I’m tired. It felt so wrong to hear my alarm go off on a Sunday.
I think this is going to take longer than I thought!

Taking Matters Into My Own Hands 2 years ago

I’ve decided to take my pill every day at 7am instead of 3pm, like I have been. This way, I’ll have to set my alarm for 7am everyday (for a month anyway), and if I stay up, great! If not, at least I’m making an effort.

Lately I’ve been getting up around 9 on some days but 11:30 when I stay up really late. I think I could be a really good morning person if I could just start waking up early enough and staying awake.

I could get up at 7, read the paper, drink some tea, watch Good Morning America – it would be fabulous. There would be so much more time in the day, time for me to sit around and do whatever I want.

We’ll see how this goes. It starts tomorrow!

Ah to be a morning person 3 years ago

They just always seem so happy. And I love breakfast. I never eat it, but it is by far my favorite meal of the day. A little fruit, a little juice or even better – coffee! When I can, I’ll sleep in until like 11:30, but when I’m at school I (used to) get up at 5:30 and I hated it! I was always in such a bad mood. I would love to be able to wake up then and be happy and get everything done without hitting the snooze button 7 times. Plus, there is so much more time left in the day when you get up in the morning instead of the afternoon.
The only down side is that if I am getting up in the morning, does that mean that I can’t stay up late at night? I need my sleep, but I love staying up late.
