Another Trip!
I’m going to NYC and Boston for the first time ever in a few days – travel is definitely really important to me in my 20s.
Also, my wonderful English friend will soon be turning into my wonderful English boyfriend and that is simply amazing :)
I know being in a relationship isn’t by any means the marker of a happy or successful life, but I do at the same time think that coming back from a year of studying abroad with a gorgeous foreign boyfriend is something worth celebrating!
So yay me! If next year ends up being even half as exciting as this one has been, I would be one very lucky girl! :)

I think some general goals I have for this decade of my life would be to:
*get married
*move to England
*become more finacially stable – i.e. – Get a steady job and actually save a good portion of the money!
*travel a bit more – South America and Asia would be excellent

And into my own place! :)
It’s super small, and needs a lot of work – but I think it’s going to be good, and the best part is that I’m out of my parent’s house and on my own.
Definitely a step in the right direction.

Lots of Travel
I’m really happy with the effort I’ll have made with this goal this first year.
In the first nine months of my 20s I will have visited 21 different countries, had to instantly pick up and learn 11 different languages, I’ve made a bunch of new friends, learned a lot about myself and have become a lot more independent.
I am really really happy with all the travelling I’ve been able to do this year. For me, that is exactly the kind of thing that this goal represents to me. Getting out there and seeing the world, being young and free and able to go ridiculously into debt but having it all be worth it.
In nine months I have/will have seen the majority of Europe:
England
Scotland
Wales
Ireland
Norway
Germany
Switzerland
Italy
Czech Republic
Poland
Hungary
Turkey
Greece
Croatia
Portugal
Spain
France
Netherlands
Belgium
Denmark
AND – Morocco
I think it’s been a very successful firt year. Now the only hard part will be following it up!

And I’ll be doing it in DUBLIN!!
So I think that’s a good start to this goal already, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that I’ll be spending my first year of my twenties living abroad in England and travelling around Europe! :)

I want to believe that it’s this easy to escape something you don’t want and seek out exactly the life you dream of having.
I want to believe it’s possible to just throw all the complications aside and actually go for something instead of spending a lifetime pitying yourself and lamenting on how it’s just impossible to see your dreams realised.
For me, this means moving to England, becoming a British citizen, traveling, maybe joining the peace corps. It means a whole bunch of things. There are so many things that I want to do. But when I sit down and look at the specific facts on how I would accomplish them, I realise how truly difficult making them happen would be, and it makes me sad and frustraited and discouraged.
I hope that when the opportunity arises I will recognise it, and that I will be like “Rat” and simplify my life enough to see that sometimes it’s okay throw everything away and blindly follow your dreams. I hope that I will be able to realise how very easy that can actually be.
