I'm seeing so much progress! 1 year ago

I’m so glad I got braces! The progress I can see already just since March is unbelievable. My right front tooth used to jut out a LOT. Whenever I took a bite of banana or something similar I would look at the mark my teeth left and shudder.

I’ve just eaten a banana, and I noticed my teeth marks look almost perfectly even now! I still have a long way to go, but this is just so encouraging for me. :)

Especially since I’ve got annoying sharp wires poking at the insides of my cheeks now. Grr. I really have to go have that fixed.

Cheers,
Sarah

Like Pulling Teeth 1 year ago

I had to have two teeth removed to make room for the others to look all pretty and straight.

It didn’t really hurt because I was numbed up. I was really frightened by it all, though. I couldn’t really eat for the next couple of days. That sucked. Chewing just kind of hurt.

On the bright side, I got lots of ice cream! :D

It was also pretty cool that they let me keep the teeth they pulled out.

Man I can’t wait for this to be over and done with.

Braces! 1 year ago

I got my brace in today! It’s so weird. But they’re less horrible than I had always thought. I got clear ones, so they’re not too noticable.

I’m so excited! I’m finally doing something about a problem that has been bugging me for years. :D

Two or three years from now, I’ll have a smile like in the toothpaste commercials. .

Here I go! 1 year ago

Okay, so I went to this orthodontist today and he interviewed me and told me how things would go.

I’m pretty lucky, since I’m not 21 years old yet, I get 150000 ISK (1 USD = 70 ISK) of the overall price paid back. :D But then again, the whole process is going to cost A LOT more than that. :S

I have an appointment in Janurary to have all these X-ray pictures taken of my teeth, and then in March I’ll get the braces. I’ll probably have to get two of my upper teeth removed in order to make space for all the teeth to be straight, but I’m not too worried.

If everything goes well, my teeth should be straight and I should be smiling in about two years. happy dance

Outstanding teeth 1 year ago

Well, I’m finally doing something about my one “outstanding” front tooth.

It has always bugged me. It actually prevents me from smiling on many occasions because I get so self aware and embarrassed if I think anyone notices.

I just want to be able to laugh and smile without immediately wanting to cover my mouth with my hands.

So I’m going to see a dentist on the 20th of November and get his advice.

A lot of people tell me that my “outstanding” tooth gives me character, that it’s adorable and so on and so forth. But I need to do this for me.
