Pills and chronic pain 4 years ago

From the age of 13, pills have been the only thing to relieve my chronic TMJ pain. Surgery is available to (hopfully) correct the problem and I am in the process of preparing for it, which includes seeing an orthodontist about braces, as well as a pain management specialist (though I’ve seen many and little help has come of it). I just want my jaw to be normal again in the sense I’d like to smile, laugh, talk, and sing to the radio without feeling like my jaw will collapse or fall off because it feels tired and over-worked. I will be 19-years-old on June 20th, and I can’t help but wonder whether I will be on pills for the rest of my life in efforts to curve the pain of my jaw and face muscles. Currently, I pop seventeen and a half pills every day, all for jaw pain and other jaw-related problems. I need a solution to the pills and pain, and I sincerely hope surgery is it.
