pay off credit card

We sold the sax and we paid off the first card again. However, there is a definate light at the end of the tunnel. I’m hoping by Christmas that we can be credit card debt free. Then I turn my attention to other things.

We sold one instrument this week. Unfortunately it’s the less valuable one and we didn’t get as much money as we had liked (we did get what it is worth) but every little bit helps. Our fence is also going in this week, so instead of hitting the credit card like I would have liked, the money will go toward paying for the fence. It’s ok though, because we really need the fence for Henry so that he can run around.

Unless we sell our instruments this month, this just isn’t going to happen for us. By the end of the year it will be, but too many unexpected expenses came at us this year. Fingers crossed that our instruments sell!

We decided to sell our high school band instruments. They have been sitting around for 7 years with hardly a touch and they can help us achieve our goal sooner. So they are at a music store right now getting cleaned and repaired and ready to sell.

I had a personnal challenge on this goal but it’s no longer here…Not sure if I want to add it back!!!!
But seriously, this gives me a chance to re-evaluate the goal I set and see if it is still possible.

We’ve paid $5000 on it since January. I’m very proud of us. We’ve carried this for over 2 years, since we were married and had no money to travel when his Dad was dying. At the current rate we are paying on the credit card, we will have it paid off in 13 months. Sooner if we can put more money to it each month.

Well, what can I say except that we have some ugly credit card debt? I came out of college with a little debt (better than most graduates) but it grew quickly in the next 6 months with getting married, lots of flying, and me not working for a couple of months. Now we have one credit card that we are working on that we hope to get paid off by December.
