I've realized... 1 year ago

...once again that my life isn’t all that bad. :)

I am... 2 years ago

...thankful that I am working and as a result I can pay my bills, buy things just for the heck of it (for my family, friends, and myself). I also now have to option to plan for the future and be more at ease when it comes to fiscal decision-making.

I am thankful for... 2 years ago

...having a one hour lunch break that isn’t restricted. I can go anywhere I want during that one hour and till the last second, I am free from the daily grind.

When you work where I work, even an uninterrupted lunch break is something to be thankful for.

...I live in NYC. I am still going to leave, but I love every bit of it anyways. It’s home.

This... 2 years ago

...has really nothing to do with this goal, but I just gave out my 101st cheer.

I wasn’t planning on cheering so many people, but there you go!

I like this site; I think I am thankful that I found out about it. It’s like a virtual journal, but you don’t really mind other people reading your entries.

Ah the anonymity of the WWW!

...for oatmeal every morning.

I love oatmeal! It fills you up properly, it’s good for you and you can add anything to it.

I prefer almonds and honey. Not a fan of raisins as they tend to stick to my teeth, but fresh blueberries are another favorite with the oatmeal.

And, oatmeal cookies are fantastic, as well as granola. I’m a granola freak…I tend to have to forcibly remove myself from a bag of granola because I’ll eat it all. And granola, although chock-full of good things for you, is tremendously high in calories and I’d rather eat my five meals a day than just three.

Why five, you ask? Because it’s an efficient distribution of energy and you tend not to over eat if you have more small meals throughout the day. But granola, that can kill me.

...that I get freshly made salads for lunch. And I don’t have to buy them.

have to keep reminding... 2 years ago

...myself that my life is not all bad. For example, I have the option to sit in a climate controlled, comfortable bus that picks me up a block away from work and drops me about 7 mins away from my house (walking). This is a convenience many people living in the city go without, so this is one good thing about my life?

I have to keep up the reminders or else the uneasiness and questions will start creeping up again. Like little gremlins.

Limited... 2 years ago

...is what my thinking would be if I felt everyday that my life was not good in some way. Reading the news and seeing the current socio-political climate of the rest fo the world forces myself to be thankful for my life.

There are so many things lacking; however, I have the opportunity to change my dissatisfactions into something to make me happy. If I keep telling myself this, then maybe true happiness can be achieved.

Or maybe I’m just kidding myself. Still have to be thankful though.
