I had my citizenship ceremony last week and now I’m an official British Citizen! I received a certificate, commemorative coin and a handshake from the Lady Mayoress of Harrow. They even gave me a useful(not…)streetmap of Harrow (very peculiar!), a passport application and an application for the electoral roll. I went out and had a Pimms and a chicken tikka masala….gawd a true Brit now!

I received my papers lsst week and my application has been granted. Now all I have to do is attend the citizenship ceremony, receive my certificate and affirm an oath to Her Majesty. YIPEEEEEE
Ok so now I’ve taken the ‘I wanna be British’ test and i passed. The 45 minute test took me all of 3 minutes and I aced it! Well I didnt expect to fail it having lived here for 19 years and actually opened the book and studied. Now I’m free to re-apply which i have. Sent back in my application form and papers for the naturalisation and am hoping it doesnt take them 500 years to process it. But this being England who knows…
awww my application was opened and rejected before i had the chance to take the test. now i have to take the test and re-apply all over again. grrrrr. never mind good things are worth perservering for.
Yes have sent the application form in but EGAD havent taken the citizenship test yet. I need to pass it to apply. So i’ve booked the test for the end of March and am studying hard. Like i need too -iv been here for 19yrs already!
