my original new years resolution has evolved into what i previously called a generic resolution of eating healthier and exercising more. i just wasn’t able to do it that easily in other years. i didn’t get frustrated this time when i made mistakes; i just got back on track. i also let myself have a moody week every 4 weeks where i’m allowed to exercise less, sleep a little more, and eat chocolate. this helps me not to give up! if i’m good 3/4’s of the time, then i’m well on my way!

my resolution is working so far. i’ve accounted for 6261 treadmill calories and have lost 4 pounds. good luck to everyone else with a resolution!
instead of the generic “eat healthier and exercise more”, my resolution is to write down my approximate caloric burn during exercise on the calendar every day, and to have 5 entries other than 0 every week. if i’m really sick i have to mark that too. i’m shooting for 200-300 calories a day, 5 days a week. since a pound roughly equals 3500 calories, if i make minor changes in my diet the weight should come off fairly easily and not too rapidly. i really can manage this goal. happy new year everyone!
