learn hebrew

Thanks to lots of advice about learning hebrew (thank you everyone!!!!) I have decided to start working on the alphabet, so I can start recognising words. I always learn quite a lot of language from reading subtitles, either in one language or in English, so once I have the alphabet, I’ll be able to start on this a little. (I got some words and symbols, okay, letters, from capote last wkend, so maybe I’ll keep learning). My boyfriend has also promised to get me some first and second grade books for me, since he lives in Israel.

My boyfriend is from Israel, and I want to learn hebrew so that I can understand what the hell he and his family are talking about, and read the signs when I go visit. Right now, I know words here and there, but nothing proper. I have a book (hebrew for dummies), but I just can’t get into it. I reckon if I just sit down and learn the alphabet, then I will start to make headway. Hopefully.
