read the Bible in a year

Work, kid’s school stuff, and life in general are just running me down. Time’s flying by – where is it going?

I need to be more conscientious about setting time aside for this, to read, learn, and really be present to this in my life.

... that watching DVDs of the first season of Six Feet Under has eaten into the time that was allocated for this. Why yes, my priorities are a bit out of whack right now. Why do you ask? [sigh]

Or that was my plan. I have a busy job, read a lot, go to mass regularly – did I really have time to do this? Or would it be One More Thing that would lapse, letting me sink down into guilt about missed goals?

Yep. I’d delete it. Decision made. Then I went to work, where I found I’d received a “spontaneous recognition” award for something or another I’d forgotten I had even done. The award – a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card. When I picked up my son this afternoon, he asked to go out for dinner. His choice? A place across the street from a Barnes & Noble. (NOT his usual suggestion. Not even close.)

I’m a lot of things, but stupid? No. So I’m now the owner of the One Year Chronological Bible (NIV). $19.99. Still figuring out how to map the dates (not waiting ‘til January 1 to begin), but it’ll work.
