I’m enjoying reading what all you young’uns (I’m 37) write here. I have to think back to remember my major (History, with a couple of equally liberal-artsy minors). Worked for nonprofits for a long time, law school, grad school, librarian, and now I’m in high tech, which is a much better place for that “get out of debt” goal.
I never would’ve predicted this 21 years ago when I left HS. Can’t say I regret the journey, but I’d like to figure out what to do for the next couple of years – and then maybe something else from mid-2007 onward?

I’m in a new position at my company, and for a variety of reasons, might be changing positions again very soon. (Still the same company.) Interestingly, one of the options at hand is something where my 2nd grad degree is actually a required credential. In the 5.5 years I’ve been at this place, I’ve never actually held a position even vaguely related to my educational background.
The other leading option is related to what I’ve been doing much of the past three years, and which I truly enjoy doing.
Nothing’s “forever” there – but whichever one it is will likely be my life for the next two years. (Assuming I do change jobs; there’s a non-zero chance that I’ll still be in this one. It’s just that I know it’s not what I want to do with the rest of my life, or even with the rest of the next 10 months.)
