Finished The Lost Years of Merlin and was impressed enough to try and track down the other books in the series … still hunting, but found another book from one of my favorite contemporary authors, Tad Williams called The War of the Flowers which is very good. If I can read another 2-3 books in the next 6 weeks I’ll consider this goal finished …

2nd book in my hot little hand … a nifty 99-cent find at Goodwill (dunno why I was even there … fate, I suppose). A book called The Lost Years of Merlin by T.A. Barron that is turning out to be quite good. Almost finished … I had forgotten how good it feels to be reading on a regular basis.
... several more to go. Finished reading Eragon last night … 497 pages (softcover) that was incredibly well written and entertaining. If you like the whole fantasy novel with a young boy and dragons and sorcerers and dwarves and elves and … you’ll love this book. Now to move on to something else …
That’s how far I got last night … not much, but hey, it’s a start. I’m reading a great Booker prize winner (thanks for the recommendation, Book Snob) by Umberto Eco, called Foucault’s Pendulum. It’s got a very strange start, but promises to be a good book.
I used to read 4-5 books a week as a kid (geek, I know!) ... now I’m lucky if I read one good book a year … I have a Book Snob friend who reads Booker prize winners all the time … and gave me some … now if I can just set aside enough time to read them …
