First semester
So my first semester has come and gone. i’ve received a 3.468 GPA, and made a lot of friends.
when i first got to college, i was super apprehensive. i mean, college is supposed to be the best time of your life, which i was definitely NOT happening. however, i joined some clubs, got involved, and now i really like it. i think it’s kind of cool how i started being more involved in things i was genuinely interested in November, and by winter break i could consider these people good friends. if all of this happened in a month period, i figure that more time with this group of friends, and with this little niche will make me a lot happier. i’m excited to go back to school for my second semester and for classes to start on January 26.

College so far
So i’ve been at college for about a month and a half or so. i don’t really know how i feel about it yet. i guess i expected a lot. well, a lot more than i’ve gotten so far. i think to myself that i’m not really close to anyone yet. and that other people already have close knit groups and the like. but then i realize that they might know these people from before college. that i have 4 years, and it hasn’t even been 2 months. i’ll find my people, even if it takes time.
i joined the rugby team the first few weeks of school. i don’t really feel like i’m getting that close to anyone on the team, and that other people are. but i just try to say to myself that things take time. and to not be too abrasive or polarizing towards people.
it’s a lot different from high school, that’s for sure. i love the openness, that’s for sure. i really like the atmosphere. part of me feels like since this campus is semi big [about 14000 undergrads] that it might be a little tougher finding my niche.
as for academics, i think i’m doing decent so far ((knock on wood, brit lit midterm tomorrow :) )) i’ve got good grades on tests and papers so far, and i hope to continue this pattern.
