I used to have a configurable gizmo for my email that inserted a quote in my signature; I hacked it to put in my own list of quotes. So everybody knew what a warped guy I was for being influenced and inspired by these weird sayings every time I sent email.
I haven’t inflicted that on anyone else for a while, and I believe I need the inspiration myself, so I’m going to drag some of them out of the mothballs and post them here.
(Another open-ended goal. In general, I do not do open-ended goals because I never know when I’m done. In this case, I will say I’m done with this when I say I’m done.)
So, anyway, I’ll start with:
“The most violent element of society is ignorance.”
—Emma Goldman
