Dear Mr. Tolstoy,
I sincerely apologize for not having read one of your greatest novels. I’ve had your book sitting on my shelf for the past 5 years and I’ve only read 4 chapters. Um, which I don’t really even remember, as I started it so very long ago. I’m the truest of bookworms (booknerd, rather) and I feel that I somehow don’t have the right to call myself that until I get to the very last page of your masterpiece. Perhaps I can devote my summer to you.
