I made a first draft of a snowflake design based on a beautiful card by Robert Sabuda. Way, way too ornate for me this year; I just don’t have the paper engineering skills yet. But I have a simpler Plan B already in mind.

Once again, I didn’t get it done in summer, and once again, the holiday season (pfeh!) came down on me like a hammer. I’ve set up a six-month reminder.
I lose! I didn’t get it done this year. My new plan: do it in July or August 2006, when I’m not grouched out over the deluge of all things Christmassy.
I was going to try to design my own (and sooner or later I’m sure I will) but as I’m a pop-up novice, I think this year I will make cards designed by Robert Sabuda. The pop-up reindeer is especially fine. I’m sure that working with the cards will give me a better practical understanding of some of the elements of pop-up engineering.
