i still wear alot of black, but

i like brightening/summer-izing? up my look with bright pinks or reds lately. i like gray too. it really makes my eyes look bright along with my… dun dun dun… eyeliner and mascara, which i’m choosing to do more often now. crazy, right? eyeliner’s come a long way, thank you maybeline. it’s not a rock hard pencil anymore, it’s actually a soft creamy crayon that actually stains the first time and doesn’t irritate as much as you’d think. people also treat you differently when you wear eyeliner. you step into this sophisticated world of adulthood.

i also commented the other day about how i love my purple (i HATE purple, but hang on) trail runner shoes. first of all, they’ve helped me significantly in losing weight and getting stronger the last few months, they’re the most comfortable shoes i’ve had ever had. i have to seriously take a moment to thank those leopard print sole, shiny, fishnet breathable masterpieces.

a really girly day

couple of showers, danced at zumba, dressed super cute, hygiene beyond fantastic, watched butterflies, was super patient with a friends issue, ate well, played with the most adorable and softest bunny.

products

i’ve been using lotion almost every day, shiny hair stuff twice a day, keeping up with shaving… and my nails are colored BRIGHT PINK (twisted pink, technically, right now). which is really weird, for me. i wanted something red, but i can never find the right shade of red for my skin tone. but WHEN I DO…!

my wardrobe is still mostly black and gray, and tons of t-shirts, but at least i have pink nails.

neutrogena blackhead remover pads… great idea, loved how it got rid of all the blackheads on my face. my mistake was, getting the pad around my eyes and… it felt so good that i used it on my neck and behind my ears. i burned all the sensive skin around my eyes off and it ended up peeling… same with behind the ears and neck. OW! puffy eyes and peeling skin = NOT feminine.

bobby pins… bought a bunch of these, thinking i could do cool things with my hair. it was cool for a few minutes… until the metal started irritating my head and then getting bobby pins out is fun… break, tangle, snap, ouch

mascara… love it when it’s brand new… i feel like after a week, it’s lumpy and sticky and starts to irritate my eyes. plus, MOST mascara irritates my eyes anyway. i found a few brands that are “ok”.

lip stuff… gloss, chapstick, lipstick, etc… loves me and i love it. oh, wait, except for lip plumper, which burned my lips and about 2 inches AROUND my lips off :)

i'm in love with this lotion

johnson’s lavendar “melt away stress” lotion.

home-made shakes

there’s something feminine about blending a healthy home-made shake, putting the rest of the contents in a pretty jug, covering the top with plastic wrap, keeping the kitchen clean and offering some to your room mate :)

pants

i bought several pants for work and have been keeping up with beautifying my tiny bathroom. i’ve realized small rooms are great for starter goals :)

shawl

i wore a shawl today and got a compliment :)

these are a few of my feminine things...

spending a little extra time in the shower (shaving or exfoliating)
being more sensitive
using more lotion
tried my paraffin spa bath
using tons of kleenex vs other tomboyish alternatives :)
keeping my place a bit cleaner
