gym time 6 months ago

I’ve come to the sad conclusion that if I really want to have the muscles to keep myself standing straight all the time, I really have to go back to the gym, and make it so that my muscles think that holding myself straight isn’t so hard (in comparision to what I do to them at the gym).

To be honest, my gym habits this year, have been absolutely appalling, I haven’t gone in God knows how long, and I really have just let it slide big time. Well no more, I want to look better, which means standing straighter, which means having more energy…. WHICH ALL MEANS going to gym

sigh

I like motivating myself this way, its nice

my neck is long and boobs look good :) 7 months ago

I am making leaps and bounds in this goal, ultimately I want to have perfect posture all the time. That’s sort of not happening, but I’m far from slouching.

I still can’t get over how much better you look when you stand straight, its insane.

I’m making progress, I still consciously tell myself to tuck my ribs in and use my abdominal muscles… at first it was hard but and now its hard… (lol) no its not as hard as it was before. For the first couple of days the muscles in the middle of my back groaned from use but now they no longer hurt. I look back on the photos from New years and apart from the drunken ones I actually look a lot better in them.

I’ve also discovered something else, I mentioned in my earlier post that I was watching models walk down the catwalk and looking at how their heads sit on my neck, I noticed that I had a collarbone that is at a different angle to the other, after looking carefully I noticed that shoulder was higher too. Its due to my stlyish laptop back, it is heavy and goes on one arm.

Evening up my shoulders is a goal for this year, but its a part of posture so I’m not making it a new goal, but first the problem: my laptop back has got to be replaced. I’m a stylish chick so by the end of this month I WILL have bought and be waiting to be delivered, or already have I stylish chic laptop bag which I WILL use for uni every day. If for any reason you are reading this and know of stylish chic laptop backpacks please give me a shout.

As well as getting rid of the problem, I’m going to try and focus on exercises like swimming- that work both sides evenly. This as well as trying to sit/stand/walk/dance straight in every field.

It seems this goal is harder for me then it is others, but then my victory will be all the sweeter.

If you want inspiration, look at anybody you ever thought was attractive/confident- check out their posture? Is it perfect? You bet your ass it is.

Strangely I’ve found it really useful to watch models walk down the catwalk, by looking at how their collar bones sit and how its all put together helps me scrutinize my own posture in where I’m going wrong. It still hurts a bit but I’ve improved a lot… I think I’ll post more notes around the house to remind me. People are commenting on it :) makes me happy because they usually say I’m looking nice at the same time :P

I always wondered why I had skinny arms, ankles, wrists, ankles but I had a fat torso and a fat neck.

Anyway a few months ago, I got really sick. I couldn’t eat for 6 days, and it took me another week to get my appetite back (I’ve never had the flu that bad) and I ended up losing two sizes. I realised that I didn’t have a big torso- I just had a fat one. The bones underneath the fat are actually quite small… The way I carry fat isn’t obvious, I don’t get bulges, I just go all log-like. Anyway I still wondered why my neck was short, but after losing more weight I saw my ribs sticking out at a funny angle. It wasn’t that I was super skinny, it was that my rib cage was tilted too far up. I immediently tried to tilt it forward and lo and behold my neck appeared.

Unfortunately my rib cage doesn’t stay this way without conscious thought, and my shoulders need to be pushed back quite a bit… but I think I’m making progress… I hope I am at least
