Wrapping up

June has been a crazy month. It has been one that has strongly illustrated the idea that ‘life happens when youre making other plans’. So many of my friends are facing massive changes/problems in their lives and it can be a bit hard to keep up at times. When my own housemate problems were over i went to a wine night only to have so many new friends speak of new big scary ones.

Now more then ever, when so many of my friends are in the real world, i have to focus on my goals, university, publication and buta and pueces otherwise theyll slip away. I was rewarded by the goals i achieved, i alwaysa have been, i just need to continue to plod along.

Outstanding june goals
Submit a paper for publication
Slow cooker/casserole
Pathology activities
Non fiction piece for the arc competition

Completed biomed protocols
Enrolled in tenns and dance classes

Its been a big month, bring on july

derailed

The last few weeks have been somewhat horrible. My house has temporarily fallen apart and I really haven’t been able to make a terribly large amount of progress on my own goals. Mainly just dealing with the fallout of the house situation.

However I still have a few days to get back on track and achieve some of the goals I set for myself

1. finish all biomed case protocols
2. finish all pharmacology tutorials ~17 to go
3. go through campus days – anatomy
4. submit another article for publication
5. Make solid plans to get involved in tennis/dance
6. use my slow cooker 3 times once this month
7. donate blood x 2, I donated once and don’t intend to donate again this month due to other commitments
8. start going through pathology activities
9. submit a decent non fiction piece for the arc competition
10. smash the rest of paediatrics

The stuff in blue is what I have done, the stuff in green is what I think is potentially achievable in the next 3 days. whew… wish me luck

Monday reassessment

Over the weekend I managed to complete all of the pharmacology tutorials. So officially 3 of my 10 goals have been completed, hurrah.

A few outstanding tasks from last week have been rolled onto the coming week. I have put them off primarily for grumpiness reasons. Would like to press forward with them this week though. Even if its only to simply get them off my list.

List of 10
1. priority: mental health lit review – research
2. write non fictional piece for arc competitions draft 2 hours
3. campus day: obesity and cardiovascular disease
4. campus day: infectious diseaes
5. campus day: acute surgical emergencies
6. campus day: head and spinal injury
7. lymphoma online module
8. presentation for student grand rounds
9. pathology tutorial 1
10. pathology tutorial 2

I’ve had some problems with housemates on the weekend. To the degree where one of my housemates has asked me to ask her boyfriend to move out of the house (A move I strongly agree with). I’m really glad this is happening, but I know its going to involve some upheaval over the coming days/weeks. However, this will probably mean a lot of adjustment in the house, and a bit of chaos in the mean time. Read my entries on “3 things I’m grateful for this month” if you want to know more.

I got heaps done

small pieces of progress

I love how everyone updates on a daily basis, I keep intending too but then I feel guilty that I haven’t gotten as much done as I want to.

I have managed to go through 10 case protocols this week, as well as 2 pharmacology tutorials … eh… not much is it

I do intend to use this weekend to do a lot of the stuff on my list though. I think I will be able to do it if I’ve got a whole weekend. I know some of these tasks have the ability to take forever. I’m optimistic though !

list of 10
1. clean room – including vaccuming
2. cases 26-30
3. summary notes of refugee mental health papers
4. pharm: anaemia

Its a long weekend, and I don’t really want to do much else apart from get on top of some of these tasks. I know I will feel amazing when all of these tasks have been completed
