catalogue and organize my library

Yeah, yeah, I know . . . but I started one evening thinking I’d just whip up a quick MySQL database in an hour or so and start popping books in.

And I did it.

Until I came to a book with two authors.

sigh

I almost added another column, then I realised how stupid that would be and added an “authors” table.

Which helped me exactly zilch when I got to a book with an editor and two authors.

Then I discovered MARC, and saw a bit bigger of a task before me.

That was a year and a half ago. Maybe someday I’ll have my catalogue written so I can start filling it. grin
