I’m marking this as done because I’ve tried some cool new things because of it, and trying to consciously go out and find something new every week now that I’m busy full-time is more stressful than fun.
When I’m living in the city next year, I’ll probably try my “one new thing a week for a year” goal again, as there’ll be lots to do there!

Hello, goal! It is time I stopped neglecting you! This week I will try baking anise cookies!
The exclamation points, where do they come from!

Final Fantasy! Woot!
I’m about 27 hours in, and so far it is basically Star Wars with the addition of a Xena Warrior Bunny Lady Who I Am Going To Marry.
I like Star Wars.

Went to a restaurant with my mother that neither of us had been to before.
Both of us forgot that in our area, the primary decorating theme for any establishment is “Lots Of Dead Animals”. We’re talking mounted heads on every wall, stuffed birds and bears and foxes in every corner, and chandeliers and lamps made from antlers.
The creepy-sad glassy-eyed-stare atmosphere was off-putting, but the food was actually pretty good. I mean, once I’d found the menu item that seemed to have the least meat on it, and convinced the waiter that I didn’t want chicken on the salad, I didn’t want chicken on the side, I didn’t want a chicken appetizer if I wasn’t having it in the salad, just. The. Salad.
Tasty salad. Cranberries and crumbled blue cheese and walnuts and creamy raspberry dressing.
Ah, well.

Splurged on a set of bath stuff that’s all pomegranate-and-mango scented and smells absolutely delicious.
I didn’t know pomegranates smelled good.

Went on a nature walk and tried out the new megahyperultrazoom on my new digital camera, with the pleasing results pictured.
Seriously, that is just crazy good.

My basket this year contained two new craft beers.
Log Jam Ale, a bitter from downstate, was tasty but surprisingly not that bitter. But tasty. Which is the important thing.
Vanilla Porter was as unusual as you’d expect a vanilla beer to be. The aftertaste was very pleasant.
Dear Easter Bunny, next year please stick around and I will share these tasty treats with you. And then I will tell all my friends I got drunk with a creature of lore and fable. Love, Me.

Tried calamari for the first time last week.
I’m not a nervous eater, but this did make me pause a bit.
Needlessly, as it turned out. It was really good.

Sunday, my aunt brought over Lindor white chocolate truffles, which were delicious.
Monday, I bought Bailey’s Cream truffles (!) for a PMSing friend. Obviously, I had to sample a few. Quality control. Delicious.
Tuesday afternoon, a friend came over and shared two Cadbury bars with me—one English Toffee and one Irish Cream. Both delicious.
Tuesday night, my sister surprises our guest with a chocolate cream pie, topped with chocolate pop rocks (!) and Hershey’s Kissables. Delicious.
Summary of this week: DELICIOUS.

Best Friend: You want to help me shovel a driveway?
Me: ‘kay.
Best Friend: You want to clean out the beer in the fridge first?
Me: ‘kay.
Wheeee!
Interesting fact: Shoveling snow whill burn off a buzz quick like whoa.
