I found my copy of Winnie Ille Pu and I’ve been reading a little bit every night. It’s slow going, but I really enjoy it.

I can’t find Winnie Ille Pu, but while looking for it around the house I did discover a 1929 edition of Richie’s Fabulae Faciles (“Easy Stories”), and my old high school Latin text, Ecce Romani (“Behold the Romans”) Book I.
I gleefully revisited my favorite chapters of Ecce Romani (Davus threatening the slaves with his big stick, the branding of the letters “FUG” into the forehead of Geta, the carriage crash on the way to Rome), but most of them are too easy for me now. I’ve started working on the Fabulae Faciles, which are decidedly less colorful, but probably more edifying.
Did I mention that I have a pristine copy of Winnie Ille Pu around here somewhere? (Thanks to Cameron, who encouraged me to buy it at a thrift store one time.)
I will take a stab at it today.
