but I have already submitted my papers first week of May…YEYAH! So now I am patiently waiting for my call, which will arrive around end of June to early July. I’m freakin stoked!
So now whilst I await, I’m meeting with the missionaries every week (as they have dinner in our place every Monday) for mission prep classes, and next week I will need to teach them the Plan of Salvation. Ark. Two years ago, I was just being taught this by the elder who baptised me and his comp, now I have to do the same.
Cheers my good bro PSMITHUT! I’m glad we share the same goal. Let me know when you are planning to submit your papers.
Well I am still working on my papers. Reckon I’ll be a tad delayed with my submission as I haven’t even cranked up all those medical and dental whatnots. I didn’t know wisdom tooth extraction costed THAT much! haha. But I might get that free from work so I’ll figure that out this week. But those two will be huge and will leave me skint in no time :)
But other than those, I am also preparing in other aspects. Still reading my scriptures, still going out with the missionaries to teach, still doing my monthly church talks (which will hopefully end soon yeyah!). My mum’s not that excited with the thought of me leaving, but she supports me nevertheless. Hope everything will work out well.
So I have my mission papers now, ready to be filled in, and submitted by March 2009.
YEYAH!
But this is way lame, I mean…I’m the only one posting on this topic! It’s like I’m talking to myself. :(
My mate’s going on a mission on the 14th of may, and I am so proud of him!
Oh I wish I can serve now too!
i have turned a year now as a member of the church, and at the mo, im working on my mission papers.
my firends, we are getting there!
last wednesday, i went finding with the missionary that found me and baptised me
he’s an assistant at the mo, so he visited our area, and i thought it would be a brilliant idea to go door-knocking with him.
and both of us were like “man, this is soo crazy.”
i can’t wait to serve a mission. i am weird like that.
six months after i got baptised…here i am finally ordained as a Melchizedek Priest. i am glad i can even spell it…woot!
im getting there….im so keen to do missionary work.
i served as a three-day missionary in our branch as three of the elders got transferred, and so our branch was left with only one missionary (elder johnson) who was just a partial-greenie (he’s been out for three months-but man he’s so smart and hardworking, he’s like a total pro- big ups to this elder!). and it’s amazing how all these things happened whilst i was having my vacation. seems like God had a plan for me hah. i was soooo excited, even my friends from the church were excited for me cos they knew i wanted to hang out with the missionaries and do tracting and other misionary-related stuff.
i told elder johnson that those three days were the longest three days of my life, waking up at 0630 and ending the day at 2230. heaps of walking (although we had a car), door knocking, heaps of rude people, heaps of crazy less-active members, heaps of prophet bashers, heaps of dogs, heaps of hyperactive children, heaps of food from supportive members…heaps of everything. but despite that – i know that those three days were the best three days of my life cos man it’s a priviledge representing the name of the our saviour Jesus Christ, being able to serve Him by helping out others (Mosiah 2:17).
i just finished that a while ago, so now i back to me old mufti. im stripped off me sunday clothes and im not wearing the missionary badge anymore, but it was so awesome as i got to keep elder johnson’s badge that i used! i just covered his surname and replaced it with mine.
there’s gonna be one day tho that my name will appear on that missionary badge just next to the name of Jesus Christ. man that’ll be cool as, i can’t wait!
i just attended a zone conference with two of them elders who i give full props to. i was totally out of my league, being a recent convert, i dunno much about the scriptures, and all them doctrines that the church knows to be true. although i must say that i have embraced all of those despite not knowing some of the logic that’s behind it, it was a total leap of faith. anyways, i just didnt give a toss anymore, all i know is that it was great being there and being called ‘elder’. man, that truly was beaut! that day, I NEVER FELT SO SURE IN MY LIFE THAT I WANT TO SERVE A MISSION.
i always get a natural high doing missionary-related stuff eg tractng, and it beats me. the elder who baptised me, a wicked missionary who was a convert @ age 17, always tells me that i will become a brill one when that time arrives.
im crossing my fingers. letme just finish my degree, then i’ll jet in a flash!
