Amnesty International is blocked by the Great Firewall, so many of the things on that list are difficult or impossible for me now. I tried to “Send an email to Bush” through a couple proxies, but I can’t. But all you other people, you can.

Come hang out with me in the Million Faces Stadium, full of people taking a seat for arms control! I’m in section W7, seat W7R0C50.

There are so many things wrong with world, forming a gordian knot of human refuse. I would like to believe that real change is possible, but so much of what I see looks like we’re just shoveling crap around.
- inequity (in power and wealth) all over the place
- malnutrition and starvation
- treatable diseases untreated for lack of medical care
- all kinds of violence
- addictions of everything imaginable
- self-delusion
- willful ignorance
- we are so ready to not like each other
- we seem even more ready to believe other people don’t like us
- we so rarely care about anything outside of our private world
The human organism has evolved living largely in communities of a couple dozen people, where everyone’s well-being is tightly interconnected with that of their tribe, and every tribe is competing with every neighboring tribe. Thus me against my brother, my brother and I against my clan, my clan and I against the world. How long until we as a global society can realize how interdependent we all are? What can anyone do bring it about sooner?

Step 1: Identify what constitutes betterness in this context. Step 2: Figure out how to realize that betterness. Step 3: Realize it and stuff.
