"finish thesis" is too big

I have a motivation problem with respect to the thesis thing, in that I don’t care much about the thesis itself, since I realized that getting reasonably interpretable results would require another side study, beyond what I should do for the thesis. So I lack motivation. Even after so much time has passed, the larger topic does still interest me, but the thesis-sized bite does not. I need to shift to thinking in terms of doing “thesis-related” writing on a regular basis. What constitutes “thesis-related” and “regular” still needs to be worked out.
