Guantanamo Bay has become a symbol of legitimized human rights violations, an indictment against our ostensibly noble intentions and a shame to our national identity. Whatever strategic advantage the detentions might have served has been made void by the complete loss of the moral high ground and the worldwide animosity our actions have fostered.
