Hmm...

I just finished up reading The Importance of Being Earnest and four other Oscar Wilde plays which I thoroughly enjoyed. I just began Puck of Pook’s Hill by Rudyard Kipling for a little light reading. So far it isn’t bad. Tomorrow I have The Audacity of Hope to finish up then I will be able to pack up the last of my books for the move to the new apartment!

Untitled

I am almost finished with the Mayfair Witch trilogy, and I am happy to announce that I bought myself two new books yesterday while I was at the Center! I believe I have read about 25 books this summer, and hopefully I read twice that much by the end of the year!

Untitled

Finished the Harry Potter series…way to go J.K. Rowling!

Untitled

This week I managed to read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (I highly recommend it) and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libra Bray. After finishing the book I found that there is a companion book to go along with it, so I guess I’ll either be hitting up the bookstores here to buy it or have to order it offline if it cannot be found in the store. I also managed to finish up one of my husbands Fantastic Four Essentials comic books. I’m not sure how much I would recommend that, but it makes for good bathroom reading material.

Harry Potter

Today I went and renewed my library card here in Helsinki. While I was out I decided that I wanted to re-read the HP series before the last book and the next movie comes out. I finally found the English section in the children’s section of the library to find that they had books 1,2,3,5, and 6. So I checked out 1,2 and 3!! I guess I’ll just have to order the 4th one from another library.

More reading time

Since I’ll be travelling over the weekend I hope to have more time to read. For kicks this week I read a silly book called Be Still my Vampire Heart, then the book that I would recommend is A Thousand Splendid Suns. I couldn’t put it down! I also read A wrinkle in Time because it had been awhile since I first read it. Who knows…I may even read the rest of L’Engle’s books.

True Believer

A friend of mine is a big Nicholas Sparks fan, and she recommended the book True Believer to me. I didn’t think I was going to like it at first, but I really got into it. I started and finished it yesterday.

I recommend the book called The Kite Runner. It is about a boy growing up in Afghanistan and what happens to his family and home. I saw it at the Barnes & Noble one day and passed right by it. Then my dad’s girlfriend showed up with it and told me that I just had to read it. I’m glad that I did. It is a raw and powerful book. Check it out!

Untitled

I’ve been reading quite a bit lately, but I haven’t made any entries about anything. I am currently reading ‘The Audacity of Hope’, ‘The Vampire Armand’,and ‘Ivanhoe’. I don’t normally read more than 1 book at a time but thought I would take up the challenge. In the past two weeks I have read 17 books! :-)

Untitled

I finished reading Blue Moon by Laurell K. Hamilton yesterday. I find her books to be so addictive! I have Obsidian Butterfly, but it was the first one I read (I jumped the gun a little), so now I’m moving on the next one (when I buy it that is). Until then I am beginning Lair of Bones by David Farland. I have enjoyed having so much time to read, but I am going to be glad to get back to work. Luckily I’ll be able to read there as well!

2 books

I managed to read two books last week. One Anne Rice book and one Laurell K. Hamilton. I began another L.K.H. book last night at bedtime and I’ll have it done sometime today. Hopefully I’ll be able to get another 2 books read this week once I’ve finished this one! (Reading: Blue Moon)
