57. Castle in the Air [Diana Wynne Jones]

Just finished reading this book. Bought last Aug10 so it took me 12 days of intermittent leisurely reading to finish it. It’s a really good book and I enjoyed it immensely. It was a continuation to the universe of Howl and The Moving Castle. It was a really entertaining surprise how towards the end, characters keep popping out of other characters. LOL Quite unexpected, but it has that fun and nice and feel-good ending to it which I loved.

Tomorrow, I’ll begin reading my next book: Daddy-Long-Legs & Dear Enemy by Jean Webster. :3

Book #56 4 months ago

56. Myths & Legends of the Philippines [Marlene Aguilar]

Finished reading this book some time July (I think. I forgot to write an entry soon as I finished.) It’s a good collection of the local myths and legends most of which were about origins and the stories behind customs/practices. It was really an interesting and insightful read about the local culture. The artworks per story were also an added treat. They were so stunning!

There’s a second volume to this collection. I think I’ll place an order for it once my 4 book orders arrive and I’ve finished reading them.

Book #55 7 months ago

55. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz [L. Frank Baum]

Finished reading about an hour ago. I’m familiar with the story and the characters, but it’s only until recently that I’ve actually read the book. The details of the story are really cute and amusing. I’m glad I picked this book to be part of the 100 <3

Book #54 9 months ago

54. Kafka on the Shore [Haruki Murakami]

Finished reading it this afternoon. It’s about a runaway boy looking for his mother and sister… and about and old man who can talk with cats and make it rain fishes and leeches.

Murakami’s writing is full of poetry, music, insights and loves to interlace somewhat 2 stories in a single novel.

Book #53 10 months ago

53. After Dark [Haruki Murakami]

I put Sense and Sensibility on hold.

...’coz I was swept away by After Dark by Haruki Murakami. It’s one of the best read ever! I can’t wait to get my hands on another one of his books.

Here’s my blog entry about it over at my wordpress.

Working on Book #53 11 months ago

I’ve started reading Sense and Sensibility [Jane Austen]. My sis bought a dvd of the movie rendition and it got me curious as to what/how the story was told in the actual story.

I’m currently on Chapter 10… and it’s quite interesting so far ^^

Book #52 11 months ago

52. The Tales of Beedle the Bard [JK Rowling]

Finished this morning. It’s a collection of wizard fairy tales with interesting and funny commentaries by Albus Dumbledore. This book is the one given by Dumbledore to Hermione in his will and contains the Tale of the Three Brothers which played a great role in Book 7 of the Harry Potter Series.
