move to vermont

.... and we’re still Jersey residents. But that’s okay.

We’re spending our honeymoon in Burlington, since we want to check out the area and make sure that our initial reaction of “This feels like home!” was right. We’ve been devouring travel guides, talking to locals and are just way too excited about all the Green Mountain State has to offer. I can’t wait to spend 10 days overlooking Lake Champlain, and I DEFINITELY can’t wait until we buy a home in Vermont.

since we’re both rather tired of being jersey residents, and because we both fell in love with burlington over the summer, we’re planning on moving to vermont in the spring of 2009.

we have a good chunk of change ready as a down payment on a house, so that’s one less thing to worry about.

what we don’t have, however, is an idea of where exactly we’d like to live, what kind of house we’d like to have (or will be able to afford) and vermont-based jobs.

when we head up to new england in the summer, we’re definitely spending a day looking at houses and getting more of an idea of where we’d like to live and what we can afford.

i’ve started doing a little bit of reasearch into vermont real estate and what kind of print media publications the state offers so we’ll have some idea of what we’re getting into.
