The director did write that letter of recommendation, and I got three other solid letters, so I’ve done everything I can possibly do, I think. If I don’t get in this year, I have also applied to two other master’s programs, so I will start one of those non-library degrees instead and let library school be postponed indefinitely.

I applied last year and was rejected. That hurt my feelings. But I have been working in libraries since 1996 and I have an excellent reputation at work, so I think my rejection was an oversight. The library director has offered to write a letter of recommendation this year. I hope it will improve my chances. I am also giving a presentation at a library conference, so that should be impressive on my CV.
