Although I’m currently sitting here, bemoaning our credit card balance, I feel so much more encouraged after I totaled up all of our payments this year.
This year we have paid off (drumroll)... $4682.35!!!!
Wow! It really didn’t seem like that much. Especially in the months when we were only able to throw $100 or $150 at it. The remaining balance of $1400 seems really inconsequential now. Well, not inconsequential, just less daunting.

Another $300 gone! The balance is down to $1900.00 even. It feels really nice to be under the $2000 mark.

An insurance check allowed us to pay off another $1,300 in one fell swoop! Our balance is now down to $2,200 even. Our starting balance this month was $4,277.98, which means we’ve paid off $2,077.98 in ONE month. Gazelle-like intensity!

I can’t help posting the news a little early (before the check actually goes through), but apparently I had a little back-payed child support due me in the tune of $700! My mom graciously handed it over to me while she was up, and now it’s all heading to the credit card + a little extra to make it even.
Previous balance: 4,277.98
Payment 8/11/08: 777.98
New balance: 3,500
