This goal is far too vague. I once read that one of the best way of NOT accomplishing a goal is making it vague. The main problem with this goal is that there’s no timeframe involved. A better idea would be to adopt this goal: “Stop drinking soda for a week”, and then increase it to a month, six months, a year, etc, progressively building upon past successes.

Time and time again have I blatantly spat into the face of this beautiful goal. Never again!
Here is the revised goal: if I can stop drinking any soda for the sum period of 1 month, I will consider this goal complete. I can’t wait to clear this goal from my list as I have more important tasks to accomplish.
So I’m shopping through IGA looking for a quick fix. I pick-up a 2L Diet Pepsi. Remorse. Back it goes on a random shelf. I pick-up a 40oz instead.
So yeah, no soda, but at what cost?
I completely blew the progress I had been making with this goal. Here’s the skinny on the situation: I sat down at a restaurant, ordered a trio, they had the gaul to ask me what kind of drink I wanted, I chose “diet coke” out of sheer habit, and voila. I didn’t realize what I did until hours later. I failed. My current record stands at 3 days with no soda.
I had an intense craving for diet pepsi tonight. I drove to the grocery store and bought a case of 12 diet iced tea instead. Score.
I’m a diet pepsi fanatic—I can easily drink upwards of 2L per day. I plan on getting this much needed caffeine from tea instead (Earl Grey). In terms of icy cold refreshing drinks with 0 calories, I’m going to go the diet iced tea route. Yum.
