I want to get pregnant again, and at my present weight it’s probably not the best idea. At least, I know I could be healthier.
So I’ve been given the recommendation to lose 10% of my body weight and then I will check into going further with it.
I have used SparkPeople.com before, but I’m not sure if I will again. I probably will, it’s a really amazing site.
Anyhow, I’m starting at 187 (ugly number) so 10% would be 18.7 pounds. I don’t have a scale that measures tenths of a pound, so I’ll round up to 19 pounds. That would get me to 168.
A timeline for this… I don’t quite know. It all depends on my activity level. I plan on getting far more active, but planning and doing are two very different things. I would hope to be done with the 19 in 10 weeks or so… about 2 months.
After that, it’s another 10% so that would be 16.8 pounds (17) and that would take me down to 151.
After that, again, 10% so 15 pounds, taking me into a healthy BMI range at 136.
Beyond that, I will probably try to do it one more time at least… 136 down to 122, and one time beyond that, possibly… from 122 to 110. 110 is a good goal for my height.
So that is 5 times of my losing 10% of my body weight. In all, I will be losing 41% of my body weight, which – though it sounds drastic – is necessary.
I would like to do it twice, if possible, before getting pregnant again. The 150’s is a good place for me to get pregnant, I think. But if I talk to a doctor and they say it’s not 100% necessary for me to have a healthy pregnancy, I might have another baby sooner.
My son is 19 months old now so I want to have another before he gets much older. I would love a huge family, so that means having kids close in age.
Anyhow, I have a new schedule that sets aside about 45 minutes or more for exercise every day. I will be editing it once my husband graduates college (in a little under 4 weeks from now) to add in a nightly walk with the family.
Anyhow, good luck to me and to those also taking this approach to weight loss.
