actually learn to play my guitar

Due to my move to London, I’ve decided to sell my guitar. I’ve been too lazy to play it at all, so it wasn’t worth lugging all the way to the other side of the world. Oh well.

I have had a guitar since I was 16 years old. Now, more than 10 years down the track, I am still as hopeless as ever when it comes to playing the guitar.

I don’t have any aspirations to be a guitar virtuoso as such – I just want to be able to pick up a guitar, play some songs and sing along. Actually, I’ve always had fantasies of being a rockstar back when I was a precocious teen singing into a hairbrush but I’m trying to be a bit more realistic now!

I found that getting lessons was great, because it forced you to at least put aside some time every week to practise. Trying to teach yourself can be a much slower process.
