save more money

I have begun to track every expense. Now I know where all my (small amount) of money is going. Food, mostly. It’s been a very helpful tool in curbing spending.

So with everything the way it is in my life right now, I realize I am going to have to adjust some of my lifestyle a bit. I have been used to pretty much being able to never look at my checking account and just buy whatever. I am 100% sure that God is not going to give me a job that doesn’t supply for all my needs, I just read that this morning in my devotion time!
Luke 12:29–31 “And don’t worry about food—what to eat and drink. Don’t worry whether God will provide it for you. These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs. He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.”
So I know I can trust Him and I don’t have to worry. But, I have a whole lot of things that aren’t needs that I’m not sure I will have supplied for me! Like Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret, Ebay, Sephora! Things that make my life very comfortable (and slightly overindulgent, ah the joys of being American…)
What we need here is a B U D G E T!

I hate thinking about money. I wholeheartedly hope to turn all financial responsibilities over to a man someday. However, for the time being I know that it would probably do me some good to at least track where it is I’m spending my money. Just like a food journal, you become aware of everything coming in and going out. My target for this goal is to curb some frivolous spending. My fear of this goal is that I’ll care and think about my money. I love the fact that I could not tell you what I have or how much money I make. I literally don’t care. I have no pride when it comes to this and I feel like money is a horrible distraction for most people. I just want to live and give a lot away.
