“She carried a book with her, always, to protect against the neglect of others.”
I read this line a few weeks ago and froze, as one will inevitably do when encountering themselves on paper, staring back from someone else’s words.
For as long as I can remember, I have been a reader. A lover of books, with books as my lover. For too long though, I have allowed dour moods, pitiable events and common complacency to leave me stagnant. I feel enslaved to the stupid television, as much as I despise it. The more I sit there, apathetic and vacant, the MORE i despise it.
I have been reading more lately, but I can be so distractable. Reading always brings me back to myself. I miss it; I miss me.
I will read more, I will read more, I will read more!!!!!
