It’s finally time to mark off this goal. It’s a VERY generalized goal and hard to really determine when I’ve completed it, but, I have been taking public transportation to get to school, so I have been walking to the train and then from there to the bus and then from there to school. Except, the days that it is warm enough to walk or I’m not in a hurry I’ll walk straight from home to the bus and skip the train. It’s an extra 20 minutes or so but a beautiful walk right across the river!
Overall, I’m doing WAY more walking then before and I determine this complete!:)

I went for a hike today in Banff. It was awesome but really showed me how out of shape I really am. Booo.

Though I haven’t really been writing up on this goal too much, I’m still attempting to walk at least once a week. Now that I’m out of school I have more time BUT unfortunately I don’t have those everyday walks around campus that I’m so used to. I’ve gone on a few walks but not many. This weekend I went to BC with my dad to visit my brother, and while there we went to the Enchanted Forest. We went on a walk throughout there and there was also a nice scenic route to walk which we did. And at the end there was a monster hill we had to climb which definitely was a workout for me.
My dad and I are planning to move to an area that is along the river and has great walking/running paths and a 15 flight set of stairs. I’m going to make a point of walking at LEAST 3 times a week when we move there. Get out and enjoy the sunshine.

It’s warming outside, I’m supposed to be walking on my knee to straighten it out, and I’m almost out of school giving me handfuls of free time. Maybe I’ll get outside more! :)

Unfortunately since I can’t do much walking because of my knee I can’t do much for this goal. HOWEVER, I have been walking around campus as per usual, and since I can’t walk normally, it tends to be quite a workout. It is good for now.

We got our first (real) snow fall of the year a little while ago, and it was SO beautiful. It was at the point where it was just snowing so it hadn’t gotten cold yet. My dad and I ordered chinese, and instead of dealing with the horrible road conditions, we walked there. It was nice :)

It’s getting harder and harder to go for walks. First, it’s getting SO dark SO early, and second my dad works so if I were to go for a walk it would be alone. And really, I don’t feel all that safe at night alone lol. I’m going to see how I do with this in the next couple of weeks. If I don’t walk at least three times in the next two weeks I’m going to give up on this goal and reopen it in spring/summer. (and plus, I DO walk every day around campus at school, so at least I’m getting SOME walking in every day)

I haven’t really been going for walks, but my classes at school are pretty much on opposite sides of one another, so school has honestly gotten me walking more (even though I still drive to school :P) It’s not much, but it’s a start.

Finally 13 months ago

I went on a fairly long walk with my dad today! We went all around our neighbourhood and back. All together it was about 45 minutes to an hour long. It was actually exhausting and my knee was really hurting by the end of it. I want to keep it up though, train my knee for walking long distances.

I want to start walking every night when my dad gets home. He wants to get out too so maybe we can motivate each other?
