I threw a dinner for 10 (including myself) on X’mas eve. I started early, around 10am, hoping to have enough time to cook everything in time. The menu includes a french onion soup, roasted tomatoes, tartiflette, vinegar chicken, grilled rosemary lamb and apple pie. My girlfriend did a special drink and salad on the side.
Hehe, despite a little accident with the apple pie, everything else went pretty well. I did finish cooking in time and everyone loved the food!
My confidence has certainly built up through this and guess what? I’d be throwing another dinner party this Saturday ;)

I’d be cooking for a X’mas dinner party with friends. Since I didn’t want them to end up as guinea pigs for my culinary skills, I’ve started trying out various dishes before X’mas eve.
First off, French onion soup with cheese toast. The recipe was a good one. I really enjoyed it.

I cooked a simple dinner tonight: rosemary lamb, pork chops, vegetable soup and salad. I cheated actually with canned soup, prepacked salad and one of those steak marinating mix. But it came out well enough.

I recalled that I was seriously considering Physics or Cooking when I was about to enter junior college.
I chose Physics, of course, bowing to the established rite of passage in my country.
Over the next 20 years, I would often think about what it would have been like if I had become a chef instead. Well, now that my pace of life is slower, I would just start to pick up cooking again.
