does it count as craft if you get one of those paint by numbers projects?
because that’s what i did. i created a birthday card for my brother-in-law with one of those paint by numbers card-making kit.
it took me 2.5 hours to do it! yeesh!

i’ve been looking for an easy craft project for chaeli so she can make christmas presents for my family members.
she needs to prepare 3 gifts for 3 couples (yeah, i’m not getting her to do one for each person – no way she has the attention span for that and no way i have the time to do that many craft sessions).
i’ve decided to create these easy-bookmarks using that foam material from the dollar store:
http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=10358
except that instead of having her draw on it, i’m going to add dabs or streaks of clue and then let her go crazy with sprinkles. which is her favourite thing, after all.
with this, i’ll probably give them each a framed photo of chaeli and santa and some other chaeli-craft she’s made from school. sort of like a gift package from chaeli to them.
i’m jumping on the badwagon…
i just spent an obscene amount of money on material for making jewellery. mind you, i bought a lot. including the special tools needed.
still… i had better take this serious as to not waste the money i spent.
i made a cute brideal shower card for trish. but like many times before, i forget to snap a photo of it before giving it away.
i should start a mini-portfolio of all of them in my flickr account.
anyway, the card turned out to be really cute. i bought these self-adhesive embelishment… a silver backing with a baby-blue flower sticking out onto of it. it was the focal point of the front of the card.
i created one father’s day card for my father-in-law. it’s a card for him by chaeli so it’s not complete yet, as i will have her decorate the inside with crayons, as well as a cut out of one of her handprints she had painted.
this is 1 one five cards i have to make… since i have to do one for doug and one for my father, from her. and i also have to make one each from doug and i, to our own dads.
this is why i’m starting this now. because i can only do one card at a time – as it takes me 30-45 minutes per card.
i created beautiful mother’s day cards for both my mom and my mother-in-law. both using scrapbooking technique. i had meant to take photos of them but completely forgot! and they have already been given to both mothers. oh well…
having said that, i did go to Dollarama to pick up more scrapping supplies. am happy.
looks like i’ll be filling this quota this week… for the rest of the month!
mother’s day is NEXT SUNDAY! and i have not yet made the gifts and cards i had planned on doing.
so this is it – craft cramming at it’s best. coming up!
with all this spring cleaning and ‘attack the clutter’ project, i’ve pleasantly realized that i have space in my walk-in closet for my craft supplies.
so many of my shevlves are empty now. i plan to buy some of the weaved, rectangular baskets lined with cloth so i can just pull out (or bring with me to where ever in the house i want to do my crafting) in the basket. easy slip in and slip out.
i’m excited. as we continue to clean our house, i’m realizing more and more that the reason why i’ve been procrasinating about certain homemade projects is because i simply can not get into the spirit of it w/out having some order and control over our chaotic mess.
once everything has been cleaned, i will feel more freedom to start new projects… as the ‘must-do’ lists shrinks away.
easter has come and gone… i had bought a slew of things to create easter cards with.
they haven’t even been opened from their packaging.
however, not all is at lost as i have completed one birthday card for my sister-in-law… click to view.
